The Ronald Corp Choral Scholarship
Ronald Corp OBE was Musical Director of The London Chorus for thirty years. Throughout that time, he was a tireless champion of young singers — nurturing talent, creating opportunities and opening doors to the professional choral world. The Ronald Corp Choral Scholarship is established in his memory, continuing that commitment by offering aspiring professionals a chance to develop their craft at the heart of one of London’s most established choirs.
Each season we award scholarships to four singers, across a mix of voice parts, who are at an early stage of their professional journey. Scholars join us for a full concert season, singing alongside our members in rehearsals and performing major choral works at some of London’s finest venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, the Barbican and Cadogan Hall. Beyond the concert platform, the programme offers a stipend, free music hire and the chance to gain experience in musical leadership, vocal coaching and a diverse repertoire — including works that are rarely performed elsewhere.
The scholarship is open to singers aged 18–30 who are currently or recently in full- or part-time musical education. We are looking for confident, committed musicians who will relish the opportunity to broaden their experience, support fellow singers in their section, and contribute to the life of the choir both in rehearsal and on stage. If you are building a career in singing and want to perform challenging repertoire in a welcoming and ambitious environment, we would love to hear from you. Full details of the current season’s programme, including how to apply, can be found in our scholarship information pack.
