Come and sing… Bach’s ‘St John Passion’
10:30 am, Sat 28 February 2026
St Botolph without Bishopsgate
Join new Musical Director William Vann, Edward Batting and The London Chorus for a day exploring St John Passion, J.S. Bach’s setting of the Passion of Christ to music as the story is told in the Gospel of John.
We will be joined by come and sing regular Edward Batting, as well as mezzo-soprano and linguist Lorna Price, who will help guide us through the nuances of singing in German.
Registration opens at 10:30am with the workshop itself running from 11am-3.30pm (including two breaks). There will be an informal performance at 3:30pm, open to any friends and family who wish to join.
Please note that the conductor will be working from the Bärenreiter edition of St John Passion although other editions will be fine, if you already own one. A limited number of Bärenreiter scores will available to hire at £3 each (please indicate if you would like one when you book your ticket).
