The London Chorus launches the Ronald Corp Choral Scholarship
The London Chorus is pleased to announce the launch of the Ronald Corp Choral Scholarship, a new programme to support aspiring professional singers in memory of our late Musical Director, Ronald Corp OBE. Ron led the choir for thirty years and was a passionate champion of young musicians throughout his career. This scholarship ensures that commitment lives on as a lasting part of his legacy.
From the 2026/27 season, we will award scholarships to four singers across a mix of voice parts. Scholars will join us for a full season of rehearsals and concerts, performing major choral works at venues including the Royal Albert Hall, the Barbican and Cadogan Hall alongside professional orchestras and musicians. The programme also provides a stipend, free music hire and the opportunity to develop skills in musical leadership and to experience a diverse and challenging repertoire.
We are looking for singers aged 18–30 who are currently or recently in full- or part-time musical education and who want to broaden their experience in a supportive and ambitious choral environment. Applications for the 2026/27 season are now open and close at 6pm on Friday 17 April 2026, with auditions taking place on Saturday 9 May. Full details, including how to apply, can be found on our scholarship page.
The scholarship is funded by the generosity of our members, audiences and supporters. If you would like to help us sustain this programme and invest in the next generation of choral singers, get in touch at choralscholars@londonchorus.org.uk.
